Job Description:
Overall responsibility and accountability for the Purchasing Function which includes people and budgetary management. Responsible for ongoing management of purchasing strategy and activity ensuring optimal supplier performance and price. Develop and implement strategy to ensure the function is operating in line with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate Supplier’s performance (Quality, Cost, Delivery and Services)
- Conduct Supplier Audit
- Handle discrepancies and conflict pertaining to contracts or quotations
- Support buyers to resolve delivery issues and PO management
- Perform cost analysis and price comparison items for new projects
- Forecast and monitor logistics cost
- Prepare ordering for returnable packaging
- Implement Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategy(s); apply Kanban, COG, VMI and milk run projects, etc.
- Monitor KPIs relating to SCM projects
- Assess warehouse storage capacity
- Review inventory results on monthly basis
- Manage internal/external suppliers and review implementation problems
- Negotiate with supplier for material cost reduction
- Negotiate for cost, quantity and delivery terms/options
- Prepare monthly reports on logistic cost, warehouse capacity and overall inventory
- Upload the cost down report to the Web
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, review and communicate impact on purchasing activities.
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent in any field related to purchasing/procurement management
- At least 5 years working experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage stakeholders and suppliers
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in leading purchasing function with proven track record in strategic purchasing function leadership delivering effective purchasing strategies, policies, process and systems
- Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
- Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes and components and supply chain management
