Chargeman – Low Voltage

Job brief:

Assist the Facilities Manager in maintaining the smooth operation of a fast-moving environment.  Responsible for the day to day management of people within the facilities function to ensure company’s targets and objectives are met to meet customer requirements, ensuring that staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures.  Responsible for housekeeping standards and continuous improvement within the Plants’ facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate operation, maintenance and repairing activities to ensure optimum uptime of machines and equipment
  • Maintain, service, test and calibrate switchboards and electrical installation compliance to Electrical Act and Regulation
  • Carryout preventive maintenance works as planned
  • Supervise and coordinate works carried out by electrical contractors
  • Maintain, install, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, machines, equipment and other machineries ensuring safety for use and in good operating condition
  • Maintain fire-fighting equipment are always in operating condition
  • Carryout all activities according to Safety, Health and Environment requirements
  • Supervise general and emergency repairs and maintenance works for plant and equipment are executed within acceptable timeframe
  • Plan and organize preventive activities to minimize downtime of electrical systems
  • Install and repair lighting systems
  • Liaise/Supervise maintenance contractors during renovation works and ensure compliance all the time
  • Prepare documents and conduct regular inspections of plant and equipment according to statutory requirements
  • Attend to complaints, verify and ensure all mechanical and electrical defects/works are attended within required time frame
  • Accurate records keeping of all plant and equipment

Requirement:

  • Must possess at least SPM certificate and a professional certificate in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in facilities management
  • Possess a Chargeman Certificate AO/A4 level issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga
  • Hands-on skills in troubleshooting, servicing and repairing of electrical installations and equipment
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and ability interpreting electrical circuit diagrams, PLCs, Control Systems and instrumentation
  • Must be able to work in shift environment
  • Malaysian citizens only
